Man seriously injured when run over by tractor while retrieving boat at Snells Beach

A 50-year-old is in a serious condition after he was run over by a tractor as he was pulling his boat in from the water.

The man was helping retrieve a boat at Snells Beach, north of Auckland when he was run over by the rear tyre on Sunday morning.

He was flown to Auckland City Hospital by the Auckland Rescue Helicopter at 10.45am.

A teenager who hit a stone as he dived into a shallow part of a river in the Bay of Plenty had to be winched from the scene after hitting his head.

The 13-year-old suffered a deep cut to the head and a neck injury after diving into the Waitawheta River in Waikino at 2.30pm on Sunday.

The Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter transferred the teen to Waikato Hospital.

Earlier in the day another teenager was riding his mountain bike when he fell down a 8 to 10 metre cliff west of Whangamata.

The boy hit rocks at the river edge as he landed suffering a broken arm and cuts and abrasions.

The Auckland Rescue Helicopter transferred the boy from the bush to Waikato Hospital in a moderate condition.

On Saturday, two men were flown to Palmerston North Hospital in the Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter after the 4x4 vehicle they were in rolled in Pongoroa.

One of the men injured his left hand and wrist and the other hurt his shoulder and cut his head.
