A Tauranga man suffered serious head injuries after falling six metres from a roof last night.
A TrustPower TECT Rescue Helicopter spokesman said the 45-year-old man, who works as a roofer, landed on his head and also sustained other injuries.
He was flown to Auckland Hospital for emergency surgery after initially being taken to Tauranga Hospital.
The incident happened at about 8pm.
The man's condition was not available today.
