A man is seriously injured after an explosion at an industrial site in Rangiora, Canterbury.
A police spokeswoman said the man was injured shortly before 8am when a drum exploded at a site on Flaxton Rd.
St John Ambulance treated the man and took him to Christchurch Hospital with serious injuries.
The police spokeswoman said Worksafe would be notified.
