Man sentenced for manslaughter

A Wellington man who administered a fatal drug dose was jailed for two years four months today.

Philip John Caswell, 45, appeared in the High Court at Wellington to be sentenced for the manslaughter of Michael Louis, after administrating a fatal class A drug dose.

Emergency services were called to a Wellington house in October 2009 where they found Mr Louis, 23, unresponsive following the drug overdose.

He later died in hospital.
