A man has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after his car smashed into the back of a truck in Auckland tonight.
The incident occurred around 11.15pm on the Southern Motorway, southbound, near Manukau.
Police said the car crashed into the rear of a large attenuator road works truck - which was well lit and was one of three on the road at the time.
The driver had to be freed from his car and was taken to Middlemore Hospital with serious injuries.
The Police Serious Crash unit were investigating the incident.
