KEY POINTS:
Police have released an image of a man who robbed a Tauranga bank at gunpoint today.
The man walked into the BNZ Bank in Chadwick Road, Greerton, about 12.10pm and produced a long barrelled firearm, demanding money from staff.
After been given an undisclosed amount of money he left, turning into Chadwick road and then into an alleyway beside a primary school.
He was dressed in black and carrying a large sports bag over one shoulder.
Two customers and several bank workers were present and police said they were receiving victim support.
Witnesses described the man as Caucasian, approximately 175 cm, of medium build and with lines on his face.
