Three teenagers have been charged after allegedly threatening a man with a variety of weapons, including a toy plastic leg, and robbing him of his groceries.
Police said the 27-year-old man was walking through the Terrace Gardens in central Wellington on Boxing Day when he was confronted by the youths about 6.45pm, The Dominion Post reported.
Armed with a knife, stick and the plastic leg, the trio stole the man's groceries worth $24, police said.
The youths were arrested and jointly charged with assault and robbery.
Two will appear in the Youth Court today and the third, an 18-year-old, appeared in the District Court yesterday.
