A man who was rescued after his car plunged 100m over a cliff in West Auckland has been charged in relation to the incident.
He will appear at Waitakere District Court on May 3 on a charge of careless driving.
The 20-year-old was rescued by firefighters near Lone Kauri Rd after an extensive search of the main road leading to Piha Beach on April 18.

He had no data coverage and only 11 per cent battery on his cellphone while trapped, and was sounding the car's horn continuously to attract attention.
