A man has been rescued from the Kaimanawa Ranges after suffering a gunshot wound.
Rescue teams were alerted when an emergency beacon was activated this afternoon.
The man was helicoptered to Waikato Hospital and police are speaking with a second man who was with the injured man.
A police investigation is looking into the circumstances around how the man received his injuries.
