A 51-year-old Westport man allegedly drove home drunk after attending a drug and alcohol counselling session.
Sergeant Matthew Frost told the Westport News the man said he had driven from Christchurch to Westport to attend the session yesterday afternoon.
Police processed the man at his Peel Street property after a tip-off.
Police said his breath alcohol level was 490 micrograms - the limit is 400 micrograms.
