HAMILTON - An Auckland man was yesterday convicted on 10 of 12 sexual charges against boys in the High Court at Hamilton.
One of the victims of Steven John Shelley, 38, was intellectually disabled.
Shelley's seven-day trial, before Justice Asher ended when the jury found Shelley guilty on four of five charges of sexual violation, three of four charges of indecent assault and one charge each of inducing an indecent act and attempting to do an indecent act, all relating to boys aged under 12 years.
He was also found guilty on one charge of indecently assaulting a boy between 12 and 16 years old.
Shelley was remanded in custody for sentencing on November 25.
