Police urgently seeking a man over the abduction and stabbing of his ex-partner have said he may also have been involved in an aggravated robbery.
Lower Hutt Police said three men took part in the home invasion style robbery in Naenae at around 8.30pm Monday night, attacking the female and male occupants.
"Both victims were beaten prior to household items being removed from the address by the offenders", Detective Senior Sergeant Ross Levy said.
"The victims' Ford Telstar motor vehicle, registration number NX905, was also taken and has yet to be recovered."
Police said they were seeking Wayne John Clarke, 24, in relation to that attack, as well the violent kidnapping of his ex-partner on Sunday.
They alleged Clarke forced his way into a house where his 25-year-old ex-partner was staying on Sunday and dragged her into his car.
The woman was beaten and attacked with a knife in an ordeal lasting six hours, during which police said she was convinced she was going to die.
Eventually, she was dumped and managed to reach Lower Hutt Police Station. She was taken to Lower Hutt Hospital and reported to be in a stable condition.
Detective Senior Sergeant Levy said: "We believe Clarke may be using a silver or light grey coloured early to mid 1990's model Mitsubishi Galant with a spoiler on the boot."
The police have called for information on the abduction and last night's robbery, which took place at the northern end of Cambridge Terrace in Naenae.
Clarke is described as Maori, approximately 176cm tall and of medium to solid build. He has a number one style haircut, and is clean shaven.
