Police are coordinating a search and rescue mission for a missing man in Whananaki, Northland.
A police spokeswoman said they received a call just after 8.30pm after the man, who had gone for a walk around the rocks at Otamure Bay, had not returned.
The man has been missing for approximately six hours.
Coastguard Northern Region duty officer Tony Winyard said the Tutukaka Rescue boat started responding at 9pm.
