KEY POINTS:
A man is missing after a canoe over-turned in a rapid on the Greymouth River today.
Constable Sean Judd said police fear for the man's safety.
He said the 32 year-old was with another adult and three children in the Canadian-style canoe when it overturned at 1pm.
"All the children were wearing life jackets; it appears that the missing man was not," Constable Judd said.
He said police, fire fighters, and coast guard have all been searching the river but there is still no sign of the man.
Constable Judd said the police dive squad have now been called in.
