A man in his 60s has been flown to Hutt Hospital after amputating a finger and severing two others.
The man was working at a house with an electric saw in Collingwood in the Tasman area when the accident occurred.
According to a Nelson Marlborough Rescue helicopter spokesman the man was initially treated by ambulance staff before being treated by the helicopter's intensive care paramedic.
He was flown immediately to the Hutt Hospital's plastics unit for assessment of reattaching his finger.
