A man's whose trip to a tattoo artist turned sour has taken to social to reveal the sickening injuries he received.
Anthony Gerald, who lives in Cardonald, UK, posted an image to facebook of his scars after having a tattoo removed from arm.
"This is what happens when you get a guy from GUMTREE to do your TATTOO... agony", he wrote.
In the image, Gerald's arm has more than 30 blisters, with his skin looking like what is described as scales on a turtle or snake.
Scarring from a previous tattoo removal can be seen on Gerald's leg.
Gumtree is a website where tattoo artists advertise their work and look to pick up clients.
His photo, posted on May 3, has gone viral, receiving more than 38,700 shares and 76,000 comments.
"Oh god, that is terrible now! Looks like a really horrible contagious skin rash or something now", one person commented.
"this is freakin disgusting! Is this even possible??"
"know your tattoo artist before u get in the chair to get your ink", another said.
Others warned against the risks of getting a tattoo or removal done through Gumtree.
"I mean seriously who in their right mind gets a tattoo done off some random on Gumtree", one lady wrote.
