A man killed while lying on an unlit rural road in Hunua on Sunday has been named.
Myron Strang, 43, of Hunua, was run over on Hunua Rd, east of Papakura, about 4am on Sunday.
Papakura Sergeant Darryll Horn said on Sunday it was understood that Mr Strang was lying on the road before he was run over and he later died at the scene.
The driver of the car remained at the scene co-operated with police, he said.
Police serious crash investigator Constable Hollie Given today said the investigation into the incident was ongoing and police were still wanting to hear from any witnesses to the crash or anyone who may have seen Mr Strang on the road on Saturday night or Sunday morning.
