An Indonesian man has been killed on a fishing vessel in New Zealand territorial waters.
Maritime New Zealand spokesman Steve Rendle said the accident occurred on a Korean flagged vessel yesterday when a trawl net was being pulled aboard.
The accident occurred 65 nautical miles (120km) north of the Auckland Islands; 380 nautical miles (703km) south of Bluff, he said.
Maritime NZ were notified of the death around 7pm, Mr Rendle said. Police had been informed.
The vessel was due to arrive in Bluff this afternoon where it would be met by police staff and Maritime NZ representatives.
