A man was killed when a train and car collided northwest of Auckland this morning. The collision occurred beside State Highway 16, Waimauku, at the Joyce Adams Place crossing about 10.20am. The car has collided with a freight train on a level crossing. As a result the 73 year-old driver of the car died at the scene. The man was the sole occupant of his vehicle.
