Police have named a man killed as a result of an incident involving a tractor on private farmland in North Canterbury last night.
He was 61-year-old Rodney Alfred Bennett from Rangiora.
Mr Bennett died at the scene of the incident, near Oxford just before midnight.
Police have referred Mr Bennett's death to the Coroner who will determine the cause of death. Canterbury Police and Victim Support are working with his family who are understandably very upset.
Police and WorkSafe New Zealand investigations are ongoing.
