Man killed in three-car crash

A young man is dead after a three-car crash just north of Eltham in Taranaki last night.

Emergency services were called to the crash on the corner of Andersons Road and Mountain Road (State Highway 3) at Eltham, 50km southeast of New Plymouth, at 6.17pm.

A 22-yearold Eltham man died at the scene and two others were taken to Taranaki Base Hospital.

Police have not yet released the victim's name.

The Serious Crash Unit were today examining the scene and vehicles.

The death was the second on Taranaki roads in three days.

A Waitara teenager died in Taranaki Base Plymouth Hospital on Tuesday morning after being hit by a van while walking on State Highway 3 near Urenui in north Taranaki on Monday night.
