Man killed in road works accident

A 30-year-old man was killed this afternoon after a road-roller truck he was driving slid off a road, crushing him between the vehicle and the ground, police say.

Sergeant Chris Maude from Henderson police said the accident happened near a new housing sub-division development at Massey in west Auckland this afternoon.

The Department of Labour had been informed.
