The man who died in a crash near Clevedon last Thursday was Shaan Singh.
Police and emergency services attended the single-vehicle crash about 1.20am on the Papakura - Clevedon Rd near Clevedon.
A police investigation into the crash is ongoing and Constable Neil Holyoake of the Counties Manukau police Serious Crash Unit was appealing for witnesses.
"We are... interested in hearing from anyone who has any knowledge of the crash or Shaan's movements leading up to the crash," a police spokesperson said.
