An Ashburton man who was killed in Christchurch last month can now be named as Cory James Protos, 30.
Name suppression was lifted for both Protos and the 22-year-old woman accused of murdering him, when she made a second appearance in the High Court at Christchurch today.
Zariah Jae Samson entered a not guilty plea to a charge of murdering Protos - who was understood to have been her boyfriend for a short time.
Police allege Samson murdered Protos on April 27 at an address in Conference Street. His body was then moved to a house in Bryndwr, where it's understood Samson lived.
Judge David Gendall remanded Samson in custody and she will appear in court again on July 18, although a trial is not likely to take place until next year.
