A man was killed on the Moutere Highway, Nelson, after being struck by a vehicle.
Police said the 40-year-old had parked his van on the side of the road and was on the road when he was hit by a vehicle around 6.20pm yesterday.
The driver of the vehicle that hit him was uninjured.
Police were seeking a motorist who drove through the crash scene.
That motorist may have been unaware of the incident but possible saw a vehicle ahead of them come to a sudden stop on the opposite side of the highway, police said.
