Police have released the name of the man killed in an industrial incident at Lyttelton port yesterday.
He was 58-year-old William Frost of Coalgate.
Mr Frost was the owner of transport services firm Drivertek International Limited, police said.
Inquiries indicated that Mr Frost died after being pinned between the trailer of a logging truck and a forklift on a wharf.
It was believed he was standing near the forklift, which was stationary, and was struck by the trailer of the logging truck which was operating nearby, police said.
