An 18-year-old Iranian national has been killed after a stolen car crashed following a brief police pursuit in West Auckland early this morning, while two pedestrians have also lost their lives this morning.
Police first spotted the stolen car in the first accident driving erratically around the Hobsonville Road area, east of the Northwestern Motorway, at about 1am this morning.
After three minutes police lost sight of the fleeing vehicle, but less than a minute later the vehicle was found after it rolled onto its roof and into a residential driveway in Hobsonville Road.
The Iranian man was one of five occupants of a stolen blue Subaru station wagon and died at the scene.
The other four people in the car - who were all under 20-years-old - were transported by ambulances to North Shore and Auckland hospitals.
