A 36-year-old man has jailed for having sex with underage girls after plying them with alcohol and drugs and strapping them to a sex contraption.
Ian Gustav Bromley was sentenced to seven years in prison in Hamilton District Court last week, after pleading guilty to a series of charges relating to sexual offending against three girls aged 14 and 15 in a Coromandel township last year, the Waikato Times reported.
Bromley befriended the teenagers on separate occasions and took them back to his house, gave them cannabis, methamphetamine and alcohol and then strapped them to a sex contraption.
He then used sex toys on them before having sex with them. The court was told the girls did not want to have sex with Bromley, but felt they had to.
Charges of rape were dropped as the Crown offered no evidence but Judge Geoff Rea said Bromley's actions would affect the girls for the rest of their lives.
Bromley's offending was premeditated, predatory and made for "grim reading," the judge said.
Bromley's defence said he believed the girls were 17 and that he was severely depressed after his recent divorce.
