A man who obsessively stalked his former driving instructor for four years and threatened to kill her has been sentenced to five years in prison.
Vincent Warren was sentenced today at the Christchurch District Court to a minimum of three years and four months.
He became infatuated with the woman while he was a student at a driving course she taught.
The 39-year-old would linger at the woman's home and work, and sent her increasingly concerning messages, including threats to kidnap, torture and murder her.
Judge Alistair Garland told Warren his offending was one of the most concerning cases he had ever dealt with.
