An Oamaru man has been jailed for four years and eight months for attacking two nurses and threatening to infect police officers with hepatitis C during two separate rampages in the town earlier this year.
Mark John Sheridan, 29, was sentenced by Judge Stephen O'Driscoll in Dunedin District Court today.
He was given a two year jail term on charges of assault and intentional damage from May 12 when he went on a rampage at Oamaru Hospital.
But Judge O'Driscoll made cumulative the two year eight-month sentence he imposed on Sheridan for threatening Oamaru police with his hepatitis-infected blood on August 25.
