Man injured on Raoul Island

A severely injured Department of Conservation worker will be flown to Auckland Hospital today after receiving emergency treatment on Raoul Island, the largest of the Kermadec Islands.

The 35-year-old man's condition is being stabilised overnight by a medical team flown to Raoul by helicopter from Ardmore after he suffered shoulder injuries in a tractor accident.
