A man is in hospital after a stag attack on a farm near Wairoa today.
The 50-year-old suffered multiple puncture wounds to his legs caused by the antlers of a stag that attacked him.
A spokeswoman for the Lowe Rescue Helicopter said the man was on a farm in Frasertown when the attack occurred around 9:40am.
He was taken to Wairoa Hospital by ambulance and then transferred to Hawkes Bay Hospital by helicopter.
