A man has been seriously injured after being thrown from his logging truck in a crash in the Athenree Gorge, Bay of Plenty.
Fire Service northern communications manager Steve Smith said police, fire and St John were at the scene of the crash near the Athenree Pancake House on State Highway 2.
A logging truck had crashed and the cab had overturned throwing the driver clear of the vehicle.
The driver was thought to be in a serious condition.
