KEY POINTS:
A man was injured while chasing a burglar who stole a laptop from his Wellington central city premises this morning.
Wellington police said the burglar entered the premises just after 7am and took the laptop before he was confronted by an employee.
"He chased him up some stairs, then the offender threw the stolen laptop at him, causing him to fall down the stairs," Inspector Steve Darroch of police central communications said.
He said the offender, described as a Maori man of stocky build in his 20s, was last seen disappearing into a parking building on The Terrace.
Police said the laptop had been recovered, although other property was missing.
