A man managed to free himself from a runaway tractor which rolled over him and dragged him along on a Hawkes Bay farm.
The Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter was called to the farm in Eskdale, north of Napier, following the incident about 5.20pm yesterday.
Rescue helicopter trust general manager Ian Wilmot said the 68-year-old man had been working on the tractor when it "accidentally got away on him".
The tractor rolled over the man and then dragged him before coming to a stop.
"The man, with the help of his wife, managed to extricate himself from the tractor and was comforted there until the helicopter arrived," Mr Wilmot said.
