A man was injured after a rope swing snapped and he fell 8m.
The man, in his 20s, was on Slipper Island, 3km east of the Coromandel Peninsula.
An Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter spokeswoman said the man was loaded onto a Coastguard vessel, which met the helicopter at the beach.
He was then flown the man to Waikato Hospital in a moderate condition.
Pictures from the helicopter show the man lying in a rocky area with paramedics surrounding him.
