KEY POINTS:
A man sustained back and neck injuries following a fall from a ladder in Waipukurau late this morning.
The man had been working up a power pole when the pole snapped without warning causing him to fall six metres to the ground.
He was transported by road to Waipukurau Medical Centre and from there flown by the Lowe Corporation rescue helicopter to Hawke's Bay Regional Hospital in Hastings for further treatment.
His condition was not known.
