A man received life-threatening back and head injuries after falling from a deck in Auckland last night.
Ambulance north communications manager Norm Ngatai said staff were called to an address in Birkenhead at 9.25pm.
"A male in his 20s had fallen about 5 metres from a deck.
"He was in a critical, life-threatening condition."
The man was taken to Auckland Hospital. He had injuries to his back and neck, Mr Ngatai said.
