A man is in intensive care in hospital after a suspected hit-and-run in Tauranga yesterday.
Jamere Turner, 24, was hit by a vehicle on his cousin's Edgecumbe Rd driveway about 4am after a party at her house, the New Zealand Herald reported.
The man who allegedly ran him down is to appear in Tauranga District Court today charged with assault.
Mr Turner's cousin told the Herald the accused man was the boyfriend of another of her cousins.
He was not invited to the party but turned up anyway, she said.
A Tauranga Hospital spokeswoman said Mr Turner was in a serious but stable condition in intensive care.
