A man has been taken to hospital after a car crashed into a power pole near Otaki this afternoon.
The car hit the power pole along State Highway 1 near Otaki about 3.50pm, a police spokeswoman said.
The driver was taken to Palmerston North Hospital with minor to moderate injuries.
The New Zealand Transport Agency took to social media to warn road users of the crash, saying SH1 Otaki is closed to southbound drivers between Te Manuao Rd and Waitohu Valley Rd.
