A Te Kuiti man will go on trial in November charged with the death of a Waikato teenager after an alleged hit-and-run.
Broc Kawhena, 21, made a brief appearance in the High Court at Hamilton today on a charge of manslaughter and being in charge of a transport service vehicle under influence of drink causing Ocean Heke's death in April.
Kawhena pleaded not guilty at an earlier appearance.
Kawhena is accused of hitting Heke with his vehicle as the 18-year-old walked on State Highway 3 after a party near Otorohanga.
Her body was found several hours later lying on a grass verge.
