The man handed himself into Manukau police station late Sunday.
The investigation into Koroheke's death is ongoing but police believe it is a domestic-related incident.
Alongside the 22-year-old police have charged a 47-year-old man.
The Herald can reveal the 47-year-old is the father of the man charged with murder.
The woman is understood to be a friend of the accused killer.
Earlier in the investigation police arrested three other people on unrelated matters.
The men, aged 27, 30 and 30, have been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm.
Police cannot rule out the possibility that they will face further charges.
"Police would like to take this opportunity to thank the media and our community for the assistance they provided during our investigation," a spokeswoman said after the arrests.
