KEY POINTS:
A man alleged to have attacked former Black Sox softball pitcher Paul Algar was remanded on bail when he appeared in Porirua District Court today.
Terangi Moeke, 35, is charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He was remanded on bail until March 13.
In January Algar was hospitalised with serious injuries after allegedly being attacked with a crowbar outside a bar after an argument over a game of pool.
Algar, 42, had been playing and coaching softball in the United States but was visiting New Zealand for a holiday.
He last played for the Black Sox in 2003 and won a World Series with the team in South Africa in 2000.
