A jilted lover tipped off police to her ex-boyfriend's tiny cannabis growing operation in his bedroom, a court heard today.
Vincent Kelly, 20, ended up in the dock on charges of growing cannabis at his Christchurch home.
Police searched his Sydenham flat after acting on information that Mr Kelly believed came from his "disgruntled girlfriend".
Christchurch District Court heard that four small seedlings were found in his bedroom and he was charged with cultivating cannabis plant, which he admitted.
The labourer's lawyer said that it was "not a very successful operation".
