KEY POINTS:
A man has appeared in court over a fatal shooting north of Auckland last night.
The 30-year-old faced a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm when he appeared in North Shore District Court this morning. He was remanded in custody until next week.
Police said it was too soon to say if further, more serious, charges would be laid over the fatal shooting of a 28-year-old man at a house in Haigh's Access Rd, Redvale last night.
The victim's name has yet to be released.
Police found him dead after being called to the property shortly after 11pm yesterday.
Another man at the house was arrested and a gun seized.
Police said they were not looking for anyone else over the shooting.
The house was cordoned off for a full forensic scene examination and police said it would stay cordoned off for the next few days.
