A man charged with sexually violating a Hawkes Bay schoolboy has appeared in the Napier District Court.
The 44-year-old has been granted name suppression, and remanded in custody.
He faces five charges, including two counts of indecent assault, one of sexual violation and one of threatening to kill.
He will be back in court next Wednesday.
The Crown alleges the man picked up the 14-year-old school boy in the suburb of Maraenui, taking him to a nearby house and sexually assaulting him.
Detective Senior Sergeant Bill Gregory said a 14-year-old had been forced into a car at the corner of Geddis Ave and Fleming Cres about 7.45am.
Police want to hear from anyone who saw a white four-door Nissan Primera car driven by a Samoan man in the area, or who saw a Samoan boy being forced into the car.
