A 26-year-old man charged with the gunpoint robbery last week of a Mt Maunganui superette is likely to face further charges when he reappears in court on Tuesday, police say.
The man appeared in the Tauranga District Court today charged with aggravated robbery.
The Arataki Superette in Tauranga was robbed on July 19.
A heavily disguised robber pointed a pistol at the shop owner, then fled with cash and tobacco, Detective Sergeant Darryl Brazier said.
Information from the public helped track down the man.
