A Rotorua man was impaled on a fence today after falling from a ladder.
Emergency services were called to a house in Rotorua about 2.40pm today after the contractor man, who was painting the house, fell from his ladder and became impaled on a fence through his upper thigh.
Police, along with firefighters, paramedics and animal control officers were called to the house.
A Fire Service spokesman said the Fire Service was called as "manpower" to help get the man off the fence.
The Department of Labour was also called and will conduct a preliminary scene check to decide if an investigation needs to be launched into the incident.
