The car driver who died in a crash on the lower Kaimai ranges on Saturday has been identified as 29-year-old Dion Pollero.
He died at the scene of the accident, between his car and a truck, on State Highway 29 near the intersection with Poripori Rd.
Senior sergeant Denton Grimes said the investigation into the cause of the accident was continuing.
"Police thoughts and condolences are with Mr Pollero's family and friends at this time."
