A man suffered a spinal injury after falling from a chair on a deck and down five steps, landing on his neck.
The man, aged in his 50s, initially went to a medical centre on Great Barrier Island before the Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter arrived, assessed him, and flew him to Auckland City Hospital in a moderate condition.
